Getting Involved
At Children’s House we recognise parents and carers are the first teachers of their children. We believe for our young children that learning is most successful when families and staff work together in close partnership.
We are committed to building warm, positive relationships with parents and carers, creating a welcoming community where good practice, ideas and achievements can be shared. By working together, we can support every child to feel confident, curious and ready to learn.
We see parents as active partners in their child’s learning journey and encourage families to take part in the many opportunities available throughout the year. These include family workshops, trips, community days and other special events designed to help parents and children enjoy, achieve and learn together.
Our Learning Plans, available under the ‘Our Learning tab’, provides up-to-date information about upcoming workshops, trips and courses. From Early Words Together and Families Connect to guidance on Supporting Learning at Home and E-Safety, we aim to offer something for every family.
We also welcome your ideas and feedback. If there is a workshop or support session you would like to see, or if you need any advice or guidance, please speak to your child’s key person, Guthsna, or our Parent Support Workers, Forida and Shelly. We are always happy to help and work with you to give your child the best possible start to their learning journey.
For more information on courses, workshops and opportunities available across both Children’s House and Old Palace, please speak to Forida or Shelly.
